Lockhart Shire Business Excellence Awards 2023 were held at the Yerong Creek Community Hall and Bowling Club on Wednesday, 31^st May 2023, with over 70 people from all over Lockhart Shire representing employees and employers in attendance. Attendees enjoyed a two course meal, along with free strawberries given out by the guest speakers, Michael and Kylie Cashen from Bidgee Strawberries and Cream.

In total, 25 nominations for businesses and individuals over four categories were received.

Lockhart Shire Council General Manager, Peter Veneris said that the Council proudly supports the opportunity for local businesses to be recognised and celebrated for their achievements through the Lockhart Shire Business Excellence Awards.

The Mayor, Cr Greg Verdon, along with representative from Lockhart, The Rock and Yerong Creek Progress Associations presented the awards  with judging this year undertaken by Court Sayer-Roberts from Enterprise Plus and Keiran Spencer from Department of Regional NSW.

The Mayor paid tribute to the way in which local businesses have weathered numerous challenges in recent times and for the contribution made by small businesses to the Shire.
