All ordinary meetings of Council  commence at 5.00pm and members of the community are welcome to attend these Council Meetings.

Meetings are held on the third Monday of each month.  The below dates and times may be subject to alteration by resolution of the Council. Any changes will be advertised.

Meeting dates are set per Council’s adopted Code of Meeting Practice, which can be found here.

Public Forums

Lockhart Shire Council welcomes community participation in its decision-making processes.

In accordance with Council’s adopted Code of Meeting Practice (2025), a Public Forum is held, when required, prior to each Ordinary Council Meeting to provide members of the public with an opportunity to address Council on matters listed on the meeting agenda.

Clause 4.1 of Council’s Code of Meeting Practice 2025 states “The council may hold a public forum prior to meetings of the council and committees of the council for the purpose of hearing oral submissions from members of the public on items of business to be considered at the meeting. Public forums may also be held prior to meetings of other committees of the council.”

If you wish to address Council regarding an item or items of business being considered at an upcoming meeting, contact Council by email, mail@lockhart.nsw.gov.au, requesting permission and advising which item you wish to speak on.
