Regional Drought Resilience Plan

Lockhart Shire Council and Wagga Wagga City Council have been awarded a $450,000 grant from the Regional Drought Resilience Planning program, which is jointly funded by the NSW Government and the Australian Government’s Future Drought Fund.

The purpose of the fund is to assist identified regions in NSW in developing their own Regional Drought Resilience Plans, which can be put into action by councils and their communities to address future risks. The fund aims to promote better drought preparedness in regional communities through proactive planning that takes into consideration environmental and social needs.

On Thursday 8 and Friday 9 August 2024 four community consultation sessions were held (Lockhart, The Rock, Wagga Wagga and Tarcutta) allowing all  community members to have a say.
