There are a number of cemeteries located throughout the Shire. The main, operative cemeteries are located at Lockhart, The Rock and Yerong Creek. There are also a number of private cemeteries scattered throughout the district.
Council’s cemeteries are open to the public seven days a week. Animals, other than recognised assistance animals, are not permitted in any of the cemeteries.
If you are researching family history and would like to enquire in person, it would be appreciated if you could contact Council on (02) 6920 5305 to make an appointment before your visit.
A great place to start with family history is the Lockhart & District Historical Society. The Society can be reached at the following email address: greens.gunyah.museum@gmail.com
